FEBRUARY FAVOURITES!

hey guys, thanks for voting for your favourites! its quite a good response eh? so yeah...here are the before and afters...enjoi :)

this was one of the first few photos i retouched this time before starting the blog, i felt that the shot was already good as it is, but somehow just need a lil more drama and mood in it, so i desaturated the whole thing and corrected the levels. if only this was video, with swirling and rolling clouds behind...i think that would be awesome and surreal

i was in monkey island in penang, where the beach was really empty and clean, clear skies and alot of photo oppurtunities. right in front of me were these 3 boats. after framing these 2 up, i thought it'd be really cool to colour grade it to a late evening mood, gold skies and all. hence i named it 'petang', the time when the fishermen come back?

hahahha...this was really being at the right place at the right time...mr al-qaeda suddenly walked in to frame just as i was about to snap...and at first i thought to myself...this idiot had to spoil the shot lah...then one split second later i thought...holy shit! this is good! so i quickly pressed the shutter...i likeee...um...it was a very cloudy day...and having the ferris wheel there made me wanna give it a 'coney island' look...something like what you would see in the movie 'requiem for a dream'...with green skies...i love green skies...i think skies should be green...

um...i found this after digging through my NZ shots...at this time i was still at a high for green skies...so yeah...i green-skied this one...

it was chinese new year, i went back to malacca, went down to town to find photo oppurtunities...was walking in an alley and i saw this...and when i say i saw this...i mean that this was a tiny shoplot with no doors, or wall or windows in the front...its like you could literally walk into these guys...so i quickly snapped before they noticed...i really wanted this cos i missed a shot similiar to this in penang...it was too dark...so yeah...but i hated the bloody ochre walls...so i made it red...and to answer bee's question, i dunno who these fellas are...theyre just strangers...
