random climber

i was at this bouldering competition in summit...was just observing the contestants...and this particular climber caught my eye...i dunno why...i saw him climb the first route and he fell at the 3rd handhold...he came down looking real nervous and disappointed...i thought to myself that mebbe its his first competition...so he went at the route again...and this time he made it to the top with ease...and i felt quite happy for him...so i continued to follow him around with the camera as he climbed the other routes...after the competition ended i went up to him for a chat...he told me that he has only been climbing about 8 months and this is his first competition and he was a nervous wreck before it started...but things smoothened out for him in the end...he finished 13th place out of 23 competitors...not bad for a first timer eh? so i was walking to my car and i realized that we didnt exchange names...so yeah...i hope to bump into him again so i can find out his name...

the good thing about this guy is that he never fails to try again. falling is part of the achieving package my dear friend. its never winning or hitting the jackpot but the true betterment of ourselves that matters most. winning is the side effect. but im sure he already know this.

he just gotta stop telling himself his an amatuer, cos he always will be until he thinks differently. im proud to call him my peer.
