do share your views

i told my cousin bout my site, and what i do with the pics...that i snap my subject, and retouch it heavily to get the finishing i want. basically cheating. then he asked me..."so the purists would be against it?" now...what say you guys? i say so what...its stylization anyway...and its just to create mood...and i like green skies...no way in hell you gonna get green skies naturally unless you use gels or filters in your 'natural photography' so i use this thing in photoshop called 'photo filter' hahah...so anywayyyyy...yeah...is what i do defined as cheating? or merely experimenting with photography in a different way?

p/s: spare me the details about 'getting your principles of photography right before dabbling in other stuffs...bla bla bla'...im lazy...

hey ko ko errol, ahh firstly let me clarify that the arrogance in my post wasnt meant for you, its meant for the "purist". :)
well yeah i do get what you mean about the pics looking better in original, infact most of the pics i posted up in "auckland street" arent retouched much, that is almost quite close to the original. the only thing that was retouched were the contrast levels and the saturation.
but yeah, what im doing here is really more of photo stylization more that a photography site per se. hence the extreme colour manipulation in some pics. thing is sometimes it goes against the principles of photography and lighting...but thats the kick lah...hahhaha...
